The COVID-19 pandemic makes it hard for the children to visit our Taman Baca, so we came up with another alternative to support their education. Video Learning is a platform provided by Taman Baca Inovator for the children to access educational videos uploaded regularly on our website and YouTube channel.
Taman Baca Inovator adapted the program based on the online learning program conducted by almost every school around the world. Students can not necessarily get an education by going to school for in-person classes because of the current condition. Still, education is much more accessible than ever because of advancing technology. They can learn about anything with just a button press, but they also contribute to society, decreasing the number of COVID-19 cases by just staying at home.
Not trying to sugarcoat the truth, virtual classes are generally not as practical as face-to-face classes, but they are certainly better than no classes at all. Right now, online classes are allowing students to access lessons and exercises and interact with teachers in ways that would have been impossible if an epidemic had struck and closed schools even a decade or two earlier.
The effectiveness of online learning certainly can be enhanced with parental guidance. Parents can support their children by establishing a schedule, setting up a designated learning space, and answering their inquiries regarding matters they do not quite understand just yet. So we might be skeptical of online learning, but it is also time to embrace and improve it.
