KeREADta

KeREADta, which means ‘Read Train’, has been conducted for 2 years and it has been our annual activity to celebrate World Book Day. KeREADta is a campaign to read books in the commuter line trains, supported by literacy volunteers in the Greater Jakarta area. In the last KeREADta event, 400 volunteers were involved in the campaign. In addition, classes are also opened for volunteers to join, such as poetry, novels, literacy, blogs, and journalism classes.

Many volunteers responded positively to this activity. Our goal is to build awareness that reading books is a useful activity that can be done on a train to spend people’s free time during a commute. We believe that the more people spend their time reading, the more literacy and education levels in Indonesia will increase.
