“I Read I Know” Collaboration with Bobo Magazine

On Sunday (20/02), Taman Baca Inovator (TBI) Foundation’s team had the opportunity to meet a team from Bobo Magazine. Kak Sigit and Kak Anna from Bobo Magazine visited us at the TBI office. Curious about what we talked about? Read on!

We talked about a lot of interesting things in the meeting to develop a good collaboration. Currently, Bobo Magazine is growing a literacy campaign with ‘Aku Baca Aku Tahu’ hashtag (lit. ‘I Read I Know’). The campaign is aimed to develop children’s reading interest all over Indonesia. Furthermore, we hope the campaign could balance gadget use and reading interest among the children. TBI as a social organization has a role to develop education and reading interest and hence it became a partner and example for the campaign.

For the campaign,  the teams recorded a couple of videos on TBI’s profile and activities. The first video portrayed TBI’s profile told by Kak Fajri while the second video recorded children’s activities in TBI.  The shooting of the videos took place in TBI Jendela Dunia Bekasi. Bu Ani,  the local staff, also appeared in one of the videos to talk about children’s activities at the TBI library.  Alam,  a young TBI visitor was also in the video to talk about how reading has been impacting him.

Bobo Magazine’s team was very happy with the activities conducted by Taman Baca Inovator.  They even planned to revisit and make further coverage on TBI, which will be helpful for us all at the foundation.

This type of collaboration is very important to develop reading interest as gadgets have been used too often and interfere with children’s reading habit. This is the challenge that we need to overcome together. Today,  the videos are up in both Bobo and TBI’s social media channels. Come and have a look! (Evlina)
